Aroma diagnostics: how an oil is matched to a person

There are more than a hundred oils, and almost every description says relaxing. Here is how a selection built on data differs from choosing by the label and what it takes

A catalogue of essential oils runs to more than a hundred bottles, and almost every description says relaxing or uplifting. You read three of them in a row and stop understanding what separates lavender from neroli. Or why two bottles carrying the same word on the label differ fourfold in price. Most people then take what they recognise by name, or what the reviews recommended. Aroma diagnostics answers the same question differently: data first, bottle second.

What aroma diagnostics is

It is matching an oil to a person rather than to a description on a label. Instead of asking which oil is best, we look at what is happening with your state right now and which scent works with it. The method is not about a diagnosis and not about illness. It is about how you feel, and about the bottle on the shelf not sitting there unused.

The word diagnostics here means measuring and going through the result, not a medical conclusion. We look at your energy state, listen to how you react to a scent, and build the selection from that.

Aromatherapy itself is older than all of us. Oils have been in use for centuries, and volumes have been written about lavender or mint. What is new is something else. Selection used to rest on the specialist's experience and on conversation, and now a measurement joins the conversation, one that can be repeated three weeks later and compared.

Where the data comes from

The selection rests on three sources, and none of them alone gives the full picture.

  • The picture of your state. A Bio-Well scan shows energy balance in numbers and images: what is even, and what deserves attention
  • Your reaction to scent. The same aroma calms one person and reminds another of a wardrobe in their grandmother's flat. That reaction is more honest than any table of correspondences
  • What you came for. Sleep, calm, focus, energy left by the evening. This is the reason a person walks in, and the selection is checked against it

A report without conversation stays a set of diagrams, and conversation without a report rests on memory and mood alone. Together they give a reference point you can come back to three weeks later and see what has changed.

What it looks like in a session

Scanning takes ten minutes, going through the report about forty. The selection comes at the end, once it is clear which zones have dropped and what you asked for at the start. We give you several options to smell and watch your reaction: what responds is what goes into the work.

What comes out of it is not one universal bottle but a set for a task. Something to inhale from your palms during the day, something for the diffuser in the evening, something to add to a carrier oil for the body. Practices come with it, and they carry the effect further: breathing, calm movement, a sane sleep schedule.

There is preparation before a session, and it affects accuracy. No coffee or alcohol for a couple of hours beforehand, wash and dry your hands, take off rings and bracelets, no hand cream right before the measurement. The full list is in the questions on the service page, nothing needs preparing separately.

How this differs from buying a ready-made oil

It does not differ at all, if you know exactly what you need. Someone who has fallen asleep to lavender for twenty years does not need aroma diagnostics: they take lavender and use it.

The difference appears where the request is more complicated than one line. Tired and not sure why, sleeping but not rested, nothing left by the evening. There is no ready answer on a label for any of those. Here a selection built on data saves both money and time: three bottles in use rather than ten on a shelf.

What you take with you

  • The full Bio-Well report: energy field, chakras, diagrams by organs and systems
  • A walk through the report with an aromatherapist in plain language
  • Essential oils and practices matched to your result
  • A clear idea of what to do at home over the next three weeks

We work with Oshadhi oils and are the official representative of the brand in Latvia. For a selection that is not a formality: every bottle has a known origin and extraction method, and the quality is backed by certificates. The selection is included in the session, the oils themselves are bought separately.

The limits of the method

Essential oils do not treat anything and do not replace what a doctor prescribes. Aroma diagnostics makes no diagnosis and does not cancel medical examinations. This is wellness work: how you feel, your routine, the state you come back to every day.

One more honest limit: the result depends on regularity. A bottle bought and forgotten in a drawer works under no selection at all. A minute of inhaling from your palms every day does more than a rare ritual once a month.

Where to start

The simplest start is a session: scanning, going through the report and choosing oils take one hour to ninety minutes. If you want to see change rather than a single snapshot, there is a month long programme with a repeat scan after three weeks. It shows whether anything moved and in which direction.

Have a look at the service page. It describes how a session works, what the price includes and how to book.
